Melba Big Band

Melba Big Band has been gracing the Jazz scene for over 7 years performing at jazz festivals and at the finest venues. Saxophonist, musical director and composer Justine Jones, who has been known for creating exciting projects such as “The Jazz Show”, 10 albums of original music and numerous jazz radio shows, leads the all female ensemble.

With 4 trumpets , 4 trombones, 5 saxophones and a rhythm section and vocalist Melba Big Band perform the best of the big band genre from the 1920s-80s including the music of Nina Simone, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Ray Anthony, Neal Hefti, Jerry Grey, Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra, and many more.

Melba Big band features the exceptional musical mastery of soloists Fiona Burnett, on Soprano and Alto Sax, Justine Jones on Tenor saxophone, Jane McGann on Alto saxophone and flute, Laura Baker Goldsmith on Baritone Saxophone, Rachael Bean, Sue Cook and Jenny Stengards on Trumpet. Renee Limenidis, Sally Barkla, Heather Allan on Trombone. Susan Bradley on Cimbasso. Completing our line up is Holly Brick on Bass and Sue Haylock on Drums.
